SANA’A August 25. 2024 (Saba) – Sana’a governor Abdulbasit al-Hadi, accompanied by Secretary-General of the Local Council Abdulqader al-Jailani, on Sunday conducted an inspection of al-Hataresh nursery in Bani Hashish district.

The visit aimed to review the progress and rehabilitation efforts at the nursery, which is one of the largest in the province, spanning over 8 hectares.

During the inspection, al-Hadi and al-Jailani were updated by Eng. Walid Noman, Director of the Agricultural Affairs Department, on the nursery’s activities.

These include the planting of almond, grape, carob, and moringa seedlings.

The nursery plans to produce over 150,000 seedlings this season under a protected system and will also grow fruit seedlings such as apples and grapes in open areas.

Additionally, vegetable crops and tomatoes are being cultivated in greenhouses, with recent efforts focusing on rehabilitating 300 bricks for wheat and corn production.

Governor al-Hadi emphasized the nursery’s critical role in providing farmers with high-quality seedlings and improved seeds.

He directed the swift installation of a diver and pump for the artesian well, to be integrated with a solar system, to enhance the nursery’s water supply and productivity.

Praising the ongoing work, governor al-Hadi highlighted the nursery as a key element in advancing the agricultural sector within the province.

He urged for a comprehensive plan to optimize the nursery’s capacity for planting a variety of fruit trees and other agricultural crops to support local market needs and development goals.
