The official inauguration of the event was marked by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the start of a day dedicated to advancing sustainability and CSR initiatives. Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, revered as the ‘Father of Indian CSR,’ delivered an insightful Opening Note, reflecting on a decade of mandated CSR in India. He discussed its transformation from an experimental initiative to a crucial element of corporate strategy, significantly impacting society.

The morning sessions included an award distribution ceremony that recognized exceptional achievements in CSR, followed by a panel discussion titled “Wisdom of the Veterans: CSR – Kal, Aaj aur Kal.” Moderated by Brig. He emphasized that CSR is not just a regulatory requirement but a powerful tool for sustainable change, with the community playing a vital role in ensuring the longevity of CSR initiatives. Pant also addressed the future of CSR, underscoring the importance of academic contributions and the resilience of communities as key factors in sustainable development.
