The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has decided to construct an elevated road from Anand Nagar to Saket to ease traffic congestion in Thane. Accordingly, the tender process for the construction of this project is underway. MMRDA is planning to finalise the contract and start the construction soon. So now MMRDA has decided to appoint a Project Management Consultant for construction. A tender has been released for that recently.

There is a huge traffic jam in Thane due to the vehicles coming to Thane from the Eastern Expressway and going towards Nashik. As a solution, MMRDA has planned Anand Nagar – Saket Elevated Road Project. This road, which is expected to cost approximately INR 1600 crore, is 6.30 km long and has six (three inbound, three outbound) lanes. After finalising the construction plan of that project, tenders were invited for the construction in March. This tender has received good response.

Technical tenders have been opened recently and three tenders have been submitted. These tenders are from three companies namely Ashoka Buildcon, J Kumar Infra and Navayuga Engineering Company. Currently, these tenders are being scrutinised and the financial tenders will be opened soon. After that, the tender will be finalised and the construction contract will be awarded. Overall, MMRDA plans to start the construction as soon as possible.

Accordingly, MMRDA needs a Project Management Consultant to manage the construction. So recently MMRDA has released a tender for it. A consultant must be appointed before construction begins. Accordingly, this appointment is likely to be made in one-and-a-half months.
