Passengers will now be able to travel multiple times in Delhi Metro by showing the QR code in their mobile. The fare for the journey will be automatically deducted from their card in the mobile every time they exit. DMRC Chief Spokesperson Anuj Dayal said that new steps are being taken continuously to make the journey of passengers in the Metro easier. Under this, Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar launched the Multiple Journey QR Ticket (MJQRT) facility on Thursday.

The hassle of buying QR tickets every day is over

This is a state-of-the-art technology, due to which passengers will not need to buy QR tickets from the station every day. They will be able to generate QR code from their mobile and travel in the metro with its help.

Anuj Dayal said that MJQRT is a revolutionary digital initiative, which has been started for the first time in India. Through this, passengers will be able to generate QR code on their mobile many times and will be able to travel with its help. This facility will be available exclusively on Delhi Sarathi (Momentum 2.0) app. Passengers using the app will be able to use this facility from Friday. Passengers will also be able to get all the information related to their journey including fare payment and recharge on the app.

Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director Dr Vikas Kumar said that multiple journey QR tickets will make travel easier for passengers. This initiative reflects their commitment to improving passenger experience in Delhi Metro.

1- To avail MJQRT, users need to register on the Delhi Saarthi (Momentum 2.0) app and start with an initial amount of Rs 150. This will be used for metro travel.

2- Like Smart Card, no security deposit is required for MJQRT.

3- Passengers can easily add funds through digital payments like UPI, credit cards and debit cards.

4- A minimum balance of Rs 60 is required to travel using MJQRT.

There will be a discount on rent

MJQRT offers commuters a 10 per cent discount during peak hours (8 am to 12 noon and 5 pm to 9 pm) and 20 per cent during non-peak hours.

No fear of money being deducted

In case of theft, loss or damage of the mobile device the balance will remain intact. Passengers can continue using MJQRT by logging in on another device.
