Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the aviation industry’s growth potential in the nation on Thursday, stating that more people are using planes to go from smaller cities and that this has made air travel more accessible and economical due to the regional connectivity initiative. Modi also floated the notion of an international Buddhist circuit that would connect nations via air and benefit both people and nations. “To shape the aviation future is our shared commitment,” Modi said.

Additionally, Modi offered to analyse the UDAN scheme’s effectiveness and made a pitch to the Asia Pacific countries about how they could use aviation to create a network of opportunities in the area. Under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, 14 million people have travelled, with many of them seeing the inside of an aircraft for the first time, he said.

In order to promote economic growth, foster innovation and strengthen peace and prosperity in the Asia Pacific region, the prime minister underlined efforts to build a network of opportunities. According to him, the aviation industry is driven by the expanding middle class and the demand it creates.

Indian airlines are working to establish the nation as a worldwide aviation hub by growing both their network and fleet. He stated that the aviation industry in the nation has experienced remarkable expansion over the past ten years, and it has evolved into a more inclusive sector in contrast to its previous exclusivity.

India is one of the largest markets for civil aviation and a solid pillar of the aviation ecosystem. According to the prime minister, India will rank among the nations with the greatest air connectivity and efforts are underway to establish it as a hub for international aviation.

Modi stated that connecting all of Asia to the Buddhist circle will benefit both nations and their citizens. He also recommended a comprehensive strategy for professional travellers’ air routes in the Asia Pacific area, which is also a hub for commerce.

In addition to infrastructural improvements, he stated that the aviation industry’s growth requires trained labour and advanced technologies. The prime minister also announced the Delhi Declaration which brought together transport and aviation ministers, regulatory bodies and industry experts from across the Asia Pacific region.
