Agriculture celebrated at Summerland Fall Fair

It was a celebration of Summerland’s agricultural tradition at the Summerland Fall Fair on Sept. 14.

The event was held on Wharton Street in front of the Summerland Museum and inside the George Ryga Arts and Cultural Centre. 

There were displays of fruit, vegetables, baking, preserving and handicrafts from Summerland residents, as well as information booths and displays from local food producers.

Denise MacDonald, one of the organizers of the fair, said the event is getting bigger each year.

This year, it included demonstrations and information provided by people in the food industry. In addition, community groups connected to agriculture were featured at the fair.
