Olam Agri has announced a significant scholarship initiative as part of its commitment to community development for the children of its employees and members of its host communities in Ilorin and Kaduna.

This initiative, according to the company, is part of its Seeds for the Future (SFTF) initiative, which is committed to ensuring a secure and sustainable future for local populations.

Business Head of Integrated Feed & Protein at Olam Agri, Amit Agarwal, said the scholarships cover educational expenses for selected students, including tuition, books, and uniforms.

He said by investing in education, Olam Agri aims to create brighter futures for young people while contributing to the development of local communities. Agarwal stated: “We believe education is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for unlocking potential. These scholarships represent our investment in the future of our employees’ children and those in the communities we serve. We hope this support will inspire them to achieve their academic goals and contribute to society.”

Managing Director of Olam Agri in Nigeria, Anil Nair, said: “As a business that started in Nigeria 35 years ago, we prioritise investments that positively impact the communities where we operate, aligning with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

By providing educational opportunities, we are helping to build a more sustainable and progressive future for the beneficiaries.” Nair further explained that Olam Agri’s commitment to education goes beyond financial support, adding that the company is also involved in school infrastructure improvements, teacher training programmes, and literacy initiatives, demonstrating a holistic approach to community development.
