The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj, held a meeting today with Wolfgang Burtscher, Director General of DG-Agri, to discuss recent developments regarding the IPARD program. Denaj emphasized that “European integration for agriculture and rural development is our priority in agricultural policies, alongside the commitment to align Albania’s legal framework with that of the European Union.”

The IPARD II program began in 2018 following an important process of accreditation and training of internal institutional capacities.

This program has contributed to the growth and development of economic units within Albanian agriculture, improving food security and increasing the added value of Albanian products in international markets.

Through the IPARD II program, 540 significant investments have been realized across various agricultural sectors, creating 1,000 jobs for Albanian families. These include 73 investments in greenhouses, 137 investments in agricultural machinery, 72 collection points, 80 investments in agrotourism enterprises, 46 investments in wineries and vineyards, 34 investments in livestock farms, 40 agro-food processing factories, and 31 investments focused on promoting the efficient use of renewable energy resources.
