READING, Pa. – The Berks County Department of Agriculture is inviting the public to learn more about careers in agriculture.

The department will hold an Agriculture & Natural Resources Career Fair on Thursday, November 14, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Leesport Farmers Market.

The event isn’t just for farmers.

Officials say agriculture today is changing, and 90% of those in the industry work in diverse supporting fields such as biotechnology, robotics, engineering and mechanics, business management, economics and finance, education and research, forestry, lumber and wood products, agronomy, animal production, entomology, veterinary science, food production and packaging, landscaping, and conservation and natural resources.

Participants will have the ability to speak with exhibitors who will share their knowledge and enthusiasm for agriculture and its many related industries.

Officials say it is also an excellent occasion to establish new job opportunities, summer internships, job shadowing and volunteering opportunities.

If you have further questions, contact the Berks County Department of Agriculture at 610-378-1844 or DeptofAg@berkspa.gov

There is no cost to attend the event.
