Bhubaneswar: Odisha is poised for a tourism boom, with foreign investment and international tourists on the horizon. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida pins hope for an all-round development of tourism sector after attending the World Travel Market 2024 in London, expressed optimism about the state’s prospects. Odisha’s stunning beaches, dense forests, historic temples, and infrastructure impressed at the WTM 2024, standing out among 14 states’ presentations.

Parida met with expatriates, India’s High Commissioner to the UK, tour operators, and investors, discussing opportunities and collaborations. A detailed roadmap is in place for developing key sites like Konark, Chilika Lake, and Similipal. The state’s 480-km coastline and other attractions will also receive attention.

This boost is timely, as Odisha has been identified as a priority state for tourism development in the Union Budget 2024-2025. The Hotel Association of India has launched its Odisha Chapter, aiming to promote sustainable tourism and hospitality in the region. With these initiatives, Odisha is set to become a top destination in India, offering a unique blend of natural beauty, culture, and hospitality.
