Albania’s growing prominence as a tourist destination appears to have boosted the value of its agricultural products in international markets.

Agricultural exports continued their upward trend in June this year.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj, announced that exports rose to 60,531 tons, compared to 49,397 tons during the same period last year.

Agricultural exports have maintained their growth trend in June, showing a 23% increase compared to the previous year,” stated Denaj.

She also highlighted that improvements in the quality and standards of Albanian products have significantly enhanced their presence in international markets.

Albania’s favorable climate, proximity to European markets, the potential for tapping into regional markets, and its low-cost labor force position the country as a promising player in various sectors, especially agriculture.

The main agricultural products exported by Albania include medicinal herbs, fresh and processed vegetables, olive oil, essential oils, melons, fruits, and canned fish.
