CAPIZ – The Department of Agriculture (DA) and Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (Philmech) distributed agricultural machinery worth P65 million to 26 farmers associations, organizations and cooperatives in this province.
Gov. Fredenil Castro, together with the representatives of the Provincial Agriculturists Office (PAO), led the distribution of four-wheel tractor to Santa Cruz Agrarian Reform Cooperative from Dumalag, and rice combine harvest for Kasanag Pinaypayan Bolo Farmers Association in Roxas City, among others.
“Ang aton gobyerno wala naga-untat sa pagpangalap kag pag-implementar sang mga programa para sa mga mangunguma. Ang mga makinarya nagalayon nga mapataas ang produksyon kag mapanubo ang gasto sa pagpanguma,” said Gov. Castro.
The distribution sang agricultural machinery is under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program of the DA and Philmech.
Also present during the event were Vice Gov. James “Mitang” Magbanua; Provincial Board (PB) member Cecilio Fecundo, chairman of the PB committee on agriculture; Acting Provincial Agriculturist Raoul Perez; Roxas City Agriculturist Mary Ann Baria who served as representative of Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, and Philmech representatives./PN
