Delhi Metro Update: DMRC to run additional early morning trains for Chhath Puja devotees between Nov 9 to 11 – Check route, timings here – Infrastructure News
In anticipation of the influx of passengers returning to Delhi-NCR following Chhath Puja celebrations, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is extending its service hours from 9 to 11 November 2024 to better serve commuters. This initiative aims to facilitate early morning connectivity for travellers arriving at the New Delhi and Anand Vihar railway stations, two major hubs receiving passengers from across India.
Morning train timings
For three consecutive days, metro services on the Yellow Line, originating from New Delhi Metro Station, will begin operations at 5:15 AM, an adjustment from the usual starting time of 5:45 AM. Similarly, services from the Anand Vihar ISBT Metro Station will commence at 5:30 AM, half an hour earlier than the regular 6:04 AM schedule. This temporary adjustment in the timetable allows travellers arriving on early morning trains to access the metro network more conveniently, reducing wait times and easing their journey into the city.

Key stations for interchange facilities
To support passengers navigating the vast metro network, interchange facilities will be fully available at all major interchange stations. These include key transit points such as Rajiv Chowk, Kashmere Gate, Hauz Khas, and others where lines intersect, offering smoother connectivity across various parts of Delhi-NCR. This provision ensures that travellers can switch between lines efficiently, catering to those whose destinations lie beyond the Yellow and Blue Lines, on which New Delhi and Anand Vihar stations operate.
The additional trains and the enhanced connectivity underscore DMRC’s commitment to providing reliable transit solutions that accommodate the needs of passengers during peak travel times. By proactively managing early morning services, Delhi Metro is helping ease potential congestion, enhance the commuter experience, and support the broader objective of promoting public transportation as a convenient, efficient, and sustainable option for residents and visitors in the National Capital Region. This move is expected to bring much-needed relief for thousands of passengers returning from festive gatherings, ensuring a safe and pleasant return to the city.
