A case of beating of an elderly man on suspicion of carrying beef in an express train has come to light in Maharashtra. This incident took place near Igatpuri in Nashik district. Government Railway Police (GRP) gave this information on Saturday. An official said that the video of the incident which took place earlier this week is going viral on social media. GRP has started an investigation into this. In the video, about a dozen people are seen attacking and abusing a person inside the train.

According to GRP, Haji Ashraf Munyar, a resident of Jalgaon district, was going to his daughter’s house in Kalyan when his co-passengers near Igatpuri beat him up on suspicion that he was carrying beef. An officer said, “We have taken cognizance of the video and the victim has been identified. Some people involved in the attack have also been identified and investigation is on.” He said that no case has been registered yet.

AIMIM MP expressed strong displeasure and also issued a warning

AIMIM MP Imtiaz Jaleel has strongly objected to this incident. He said that now there is a need to stand up and fight these forces. Such incidents are becoming a normal trend. So we cannot remain silent spectators. He said, ‘Now the time has come that all secular Indians have to defeat such forces. For this we should come together.’ The MP from Aurangabad said on Twitter, ‘You see how much venom is spread among these people. After all, how can they even think of doing this to anyone. The victims of this incident are probably of his grandfather’s age.’ He said that giving memorandums and expressing anger on social media regarding such incidents will be enough. If the government and the police turn a blind eye, then as a community we will have to stand up. We need to fight these forces.
