Josh Inglis has become the embodiment of cricket’s crazy calendar, with his status as a first choice white ball player but also a fringe member of the Test squad handing him the toughest travel commission of any Australian player this summer.
Stand-in skipper Inglis’ demanding itinerary and multi-format duties make him highly unlikely to be considered for next week’s first Test against India, despite his inclusion in the 13-man squad for Perth, with his best chance to arrive later in the series.
