Daltonganj: A goods train with 116 empty wagons experienced a coupling failure between Hehegara and Chhipadohar railway stations under the Dhanbad division of East Central Railway on Dhanteras night. The breakdown on the up line caused significant delays to passenger services, including Ranchi-Delhi Garib Rath and Ranchi-Sasaram Intercity Express. The Garib Rath was held at Latehar railway station for an hour, while the Intercity Express was detained at Hehegara station for over two hours. Senior railway official Umesh Kumar said, “While there was no damage to railway property, the breakdown unfortunately caused significant inconvenience to passengers travelling during the festive season.” tnn
