Which roads should be avoided in Delhi on August 13?
From 4 am to 11 am on Tuesday, the following roads will be closed:

- Lothian Road
- SP Mukherjee Marg
- Chandni Chowk Road
- Nishad Raj Marg
- Esplanade Road and its Link Road
- Ring Road from Rajghat to ISBT
- Outer Ring Road from ISBT to IP Flyover

Independence Day 2024: What are some alternative routes to opt for on August 13?
For travel between north and south Delhi, alternate routes include Aurobindo Marg, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Kautilya Marg, SPM Marg, 11 Murti, Mother Teresa Crescent, Park Street, Mandir Marg, Panchkuian Road, and Rani Jhansi Road.
In the east-west corridor, use routes such as NH-24, Nizamuddin Khatta, Barapula Road (under AIIMS Flyover), Ring Road, Mathura Road, Subramania Bharti Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg, Prithviraj Road, and Safdarjung Road.
Independence Day 2024: Restrictions and Prohibitions
The Old Iron Bridge and Geeta Colony Bridge towards Shanti Van will be closed. However, the following bridges will remain open:
- DND
- NH-24 (NH-9)
- Yudhister Setu
- Signature Bridge
- Wazirabad Bridge
What is restricted in Delhi on Aug 13?
Goods vehicles will be restricted between Nizamuddin and Wazirabad bridges from midnight on August 12 to 11 am on August 13. Additionally, inter-state buses will be prohibited between Maharana Pratap ISBT and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT during this period.
City buses, including those run by Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), will not operate on Ring Road from midnight on August 12 to 11 am on August 13. Buses will also avoid Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Tilak Marg, and other restricted areas, taking alternative routes instead.
Attendees of the Independence Day function are advised not to bring items such as cameras, binoculars, umbrellas, handbags, briefcases, transistors, cigarette lighters, tiffin boxes, or water bottles. Additionally, the use of aerial platforms like paragliders, UAVs, and hot air balloons is prohibited over Delhi until August 15.
