The show’s 97th edition will be held on Saturday, October 19 once again at Kyabram Showgrounds and tickets are on sale now.
This year will see a new face on the AH&P committee as secretary, set to shake things up for the show.
Filipa Marshall has been a part of the Kyabram Show family since she can remember, with her parents on the committee since she was a baby.
This year, with past secretary Janelle McDonald stepping down, it was her opportunity to continue on the family name.
Joining her on the AH&P society committee are more new faces under 30, sure to bring a fresh twist to this year’s proceedings.
One change that Mrs Marshall has said would completely shift things for the Kyabram Show was there would be no fee with any entry into the pavilion competitions.
She said she hoped this change would encourage more people to get involved in the show.
“We’d rather end up with too much stuff where people can get excited about seeing their stuff up on the wall rather than be disappointed that they weren’t able to participate due to a price tag,” Mrs Marshall said.
She said the committee had already been working with community groups across Kyabram to build anticipation and a sense of community spirit around the show.
“Kyabram grew to what it is on the back of agriculture, whether it be our fruit industry, our dairy or our cropping … so this is really a celebration of our traditions and our roots,” she said.
“And, we want as many people involved as possible.”
This year welcomes back the beloved animal nursery, where visitors can pat a cow, cuddle a horse and delight in seeing adorable calves and piglets up close.
And returning will be the classic favourites such as the pavilion competitions, livestock shows, side shows and fun and thrilling rides.
Tickets are available to pre-purchase at the Kyabram Showgrounds ticket box, or attendees can pay at the gate on arrival.
Ticket prices cater to all: $35 for families (two adults, three children), $15 for adults, $10 for pensioners and secondary students, while primary students and younger enter free (with an adult).
