Pakistan’s newly appointed limited-overs captain, Mohammad Rizwan, has opened up about the Indian team’s participation in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Mohammad Rizwan said that the Indian cricketers would receive a warm welcome from Pakistan fans during the mega tournament.
The India national cricket team is unlikely to travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to be played in Pakistan next year. Notably, India has not visited Pakistan since the Asia Cup back in 2008. The two cricket teams last played a bilateral series in India during the 2012-13 season.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi is optimistic that the Champions Trophy will be played in Pakistan with all teams, including India. The tournament is scheduled to start on February 19 and will conclude with the final on March 9. Matches will be held in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.

Pakistan Last Visited India For ODI World Cup 2023
Pakistan has participated in ICC events held in India, with the most recent being the 2023 ODI World Cup. India didn’t want to travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup, which was co-hosted, with Sri Lanka accommodating all of India’s matches.
The last bilateral series between the two countries took place in India in 2012, featuring ODIs. Pakistan has also played in India for the 2016 T20 World Cup.
The ICC is exploring different options for the upcoming Champions Trophy due to uncertainty regarding India’s participation. A hybrid model, with Dubai being a potential venue, is among the options. The Pakistan Cricket Board has already provided the ICC with detailed expense information.
