Bangladesh National Cricket Team skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto talked about the Test series win against the Pakistan National Cricket Team. He praised his team and opened up about the upcoming series against India, saying that they have experience in the team to win the series.
Bangladesh National Cricket Team scripted history as under the leadership of Najmul Hossain Shanto, they went on to whitewash Pakistan in the two-match Test series. They were right on the money with the bat and ball throughout the series, as they won both games quite comfortably and bagged important WTC points.
Bangladesh won the first game by the margin of 10 wickets at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium and then followed it up with a 6-wicket win in the second game at the same venue. With the series win, they also moved to the 4th spot in the ICC World Test Championship points table and are now very much in contention for the final.
But they now will be facing their biggest challenge in the game. Bangladesh will now be traveling to India for the two-match Test series. The series between the two teams will begin on 19th September, and with them winning the game against Pakistan, they would be high on confidence.
Najmul Hossain Shanto was left speechless after his team won the Test series against Pakistan. He said that everyone on the team was impressive as they were keen to win the series. Speaking to the broadcasters after the game, he explained:
“Means a lot, can’t express in words. Happy. We were looking to win here and are very happy with the way everyone has done their job. Very impressive, the work ethic of our pacers was great and that’s why we got the result.
“Everyone is honest with themselves, and they want to win; I hope they continue. Joy missed out because of a niggle, and the way Shadman batted in the first Test was excellent. And even Zakir, in this Test, came out positive and got us the momentum.”

Najmul Hossain Shanto further stated that the Test series against India will be important for them. He stressed that the experienced players Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim are confident of doing well in India.
Najmul Hossain Shanto also praised Mehidy Hasan Miraz for his impressive all-round performance in the game and expressed confidence in the all-rounder for the India series. He added that they want to keep the same culture in the team. He elaborated:
“The next series is very important, and this win gives us a lot of confidence. We have a lot of experience in Mushi and Shakib, and they will be important in India. (On Miraz) The way he bowled and took 5 wickets in these conditions is very impressive, and hope he can do the same against India.
“Everyone has chipped in, especially those who weren’t getting chances. The 4 guys who weren’t in the XI but helping the team in the field was very impressive. I hope this culture can continue. The party is the manager’s call, we have to travel as well but we will go well!” he concluded.
