Council of Ministers approved the national farm investment scheme during the meeting on Wednesday, September 18.

In a media briefing following the meeting, Minister of Agriculture Anila Denaj announced that the scheme, which includes a 50% grant investment, is designed to strengthen agricultural activities for farmers, livestock breeders, and the fishing sector.

The scheme, with a budget starting at 500 million Lek for this year, will commence on October 1.

We approved the national farm investment scheme, with a 50% grant, to enhance, strengthen, and modernize agricultural activities for farmers, livestock breeders, and the fishing sector through aquaculture. The initial focus will be on those interested in expanding investments in greenhouses to ensure high-quality products. This year, the livestock sector has received increased attention through the national subsidy scheme. With the 50% grant investment scheme, we aim to improve infrastructure for animal husbandry, assisting with barn construction. The aquaculture sector is also crucial,” Denaj said.

Regarding solar greenhouses, the benefit amount will be up to 15 million Lek per hectare for table grape production greenhouses, 8 million Lek per hectare for table grape greenhouses, and 4 million Lek per hectare for strawberry production greenhouses. The scheme’s budget starts at 500 million Lek for this year. The scheme’s announcement will begin on October 1, with ongoing applications throughout the year. Positive responses may also include a payment of up to 30% within this year, Denaj added.
