TN Department of Agriculture gives animal protection tips after horse tests positive for West Nile Virus | Tennessee
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) is sharing ways to protect your animals after a report of mosquito-borne disease this week.
TDA says a horse in Hickman County tested positive for West Nile Virus.
The horse showed only mild neurological symptoms and is recovering well.
TDA recommends the following tips to protect your animals from mosquito-borne disease:
- Vaccinations: Ensure your horses and pets are up-to-date with their vaccinations to help prevent mosquito-borne diseases.
- Vector Control: Implement effective mosquito control measures on your property. This includes removing standing water, using mosquito repellent, and maintaining clean environments.
