Caitlin Clark avoids serious injury with ankle tweak vs. Atlanta Dream
Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark tweaked her ankle in Monday’s win over Atlanta, but avoided serious injury.
The Indiana Fever (14-16) are currently a solid No. 7 in the WNBA standings as they host the Connecticut Sun (22-7). The Fever played Connecticut three times in their first 13 games, losing all three.
Kelsey Mitchell (18.2 points per game) and Caitlin Clark (18.0 points, a league-leading 8.2 assists) lead the Fever, who are 3-1 out of the Olympic break. Fellow All-Star Aliyah Boston adds 13.9 points and 9.3 rebounds.
DeWanna Bonner (16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds) leads six Sun players in double figures. Alyssa Thomas is Connecticut’s fifth-leading scorer (11.2) but also averages a team-leading 9.1 rebounds, 7.9 assists and 1.6 steals.
